Bummed and Totally out of the Loop!

Hey guys....I feel really bummed that I have missed the last 3 ABPhab adventures but it is really hard for me to get away lately. Weekends are nearly impossible with my schedule and October is INSANE!

4 weddings (one out of town) to shoot
1 Rehearsal dinner to shoot
wedding consultations already booked
NKOTB concert
Halloween
New quarter starting on this Thursday......
I could keep going.

The point of my post:
Starting in November I would like to get out of the house once a month for dinner and cocktails...most likely on a Wednesday night. Maybe we could do the first Wednesday or the second Wednesday of every month.....whatever. Something simple so that I can get out of the house and interact with other adult women. :)

It can be just a side thing to the normal ABPhab for whoever wants to come....I regardless.....will be there sipping my martini.

Love ya ladies and I hate that I have missed so much.

Sk80's Update!

Hey girlies.
Okay, so as of today, we have 10 RSVPs for the party on Sunday.
I thought we would have more, but I know it's going to be awesome no matter what!

The balance for the rental is 150.00 (I paid the $50 deposit, so I'm not going to be included in the balance). With 9 others attending, the total cash you need to bring is 17 bucks. That includes the rink rental, your skate rental, pizza, sodas, and the DJ.

If any more people can make it, please let me know so we can adjust the balance as needed.

Don't forget about the 80s dress-up contest! Marlena, Rachel and I raided the CWC and found some real gems. For less than 10 bucks, you can look, like, totally rad and bodacious. What would Debbie or Tiffany wear?? There will be a prize for the best dressed babe!

If anyone would like to invite more girls, go ahead and let them know!

Creep Crawl is this Sunday

Hey Ladies!
I just wanted to throw out a quick reminder about the 5K Memorial Walk/Run this Sunday. I've been talking to another Matt/Maddie fan and she's going to be walking at Piedmont Park. Do you guys want to go there, or stick to the Southside. I will most likely be bringing Aidan-face in the stroller. So non-runners don't worry, there will be a walking crew. YAY!!!

Real Women Vs. Martha Stewart

Real Women Vs. Martha Stewart

Martha's way #1
Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips.
The Real Women's Way:
Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake, you are probably lying on the couch, with your feet up, eating it anyway.
Martha's way #2:
To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.
The Real Women's Way:
Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix and keep it in the pantry for up to a year.
Martha's way #3:
When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
The Real Women's Way:
Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you.
Martha's way #4:
If you accidentally over salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant 'fix me up.'
The Real Women's Way:
If you over salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too damn bad. Please recite with me, The Real Women's motto: I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes.
Martha's way #5:
Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.
The Real Women's Way:
Celery? Never heard of the stuff.
Martha's way #6:
Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.
The Real Women's Way:
The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust so I just don't do it.
Martha's way #7:
Cure for headaches: Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.
The Real Women's Way:
Martha, dear, the only reason this works is because you can't rub a lime on your forehead without getting lime juice in your eye, and then the problem isn't the headache anymore, YOU'RE NOW BLIND!
Martha's way #8:
If you have a problem opening jars: Try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non slip grip that makes opening jars easy.
The Real Women's Way:
Go ask the very cute neighbor to do it.
Martha's way #9:
Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.
The Real Women's Way:
Leftover wine??????

1st Annual Creep Crawl

Ok Ladies,
Some time ago Mrs. Heatheroni linked to a blog about a guy who was blessed with an adorable baby girl on March 24th and lost his beloved wife the very next day. Once you get past the initial soul wretching pain of his situation you too will become addicted to his blog, for his writing and fantabulous pics. Some friends of his are starting the first annual 5K in memory of his late wife. They want to get groups from each time zone around the world to walk/run/crawl at 1:00 pm on Sept 21st, so that it's a walk around the world, and take pics to upload to flickr. Pretty cool, eh? So I'm wondering if any of you would be game to participate. Full details are here.

Here goes nothing....

Okay! I am generally pretty "anti-blog"! I usually don't even leave comments on blogs (although I read them all)...but, I've been nominated by Heather (probably for this very reason) to blog now! So, here goes...ten random facts about little ol' me:

1. I have worked harder at my education than anything else in my life. Now that I'm almost finished I am terrified that I will not be good at what I've worked my entire life to become. This is my biggest fear.

2. I dip EVERYTHING in ranch dressing!

3. I didn't speak to people until I was 18 years old. That person that I used to be is the shyest person that I've EVER met.

4. Spelling and grammatical errors drive me INSANE!

5. I married my best friend (cliche, I know)! We fight like cats and dogs; we can irritate each other beyond belief...but we are laughing by the end of every argument.

6. I am completely freaked out by those wind sock people that are always outside car dealerships!

7. I am unimaginably jealous of my sister. She has always been very fun-loving and outgoing and people gravitate to her (and for good reason...she's amazing)! I spent so much of my life trying to be like her that I forgot who I was...it took a long time for me to realize that people might like me on my own...without being like her!

8. I am obsessed with musicals and theatre in general!

9. I get butterflies in my stomach on the school supply aisle! They give me an unnatural high...I feel the same way about books!

10. I am such a nerd that I had to write a first draft of this list on paper, revise, edit, reorder, and THEN type it!

Alright! I made it to ten! Does anyone want to refer me to a therapist??? Next up...I want to hear from............

Rachel B.

Okay, you vampire addicts...

Now you can find your Edwards!

Too funny!
**I am in no way condoning or encouraging extramarital relations! I am pretty sure the site is all in fun, as is this post! ;)

For those of you not yet 'sucked' into the Twilight series, you really should go for it. It's got vampires, it's romantic, and it's addictive! We have some copies circulating, or they are around 10 bucks at Walmart. There are 4 books in the series. The first movie comes out November 21 (it took Harry Potter's place...sorry HP!) and it will be a blast to all go see it. Maybe I will even break out my old goth gear for the occasion....

Mwah!
